Totally agree! I think the resurgence in interest in the American market has created an interesting opportunity for some American car makers to enter F1. Kind of curious that they didn't take a shot at partnering up with Haas but maybe they want a fresh start given Haas' lack up success up to this point.
AFAIK, Andretti has been trying this, but couldn't do it alone. Must have sweet talked GM to joining them. Will be hard for F1 to say no to that, but we'll know more in the summer.
Not to mention that Ford and GM are entering F1 thanks partly to drive to survive!

I believe GM is partnering with Andretti, meanwhile Ford is partnering with Red Bull/Alpha Tauri.
